I was always fascinated by communication, sign systems and human behaviour, whether through life, art, science or business.
This fascination is what led me through my career, studies and online activities.
My kick is finding clarity in complex situations and bridging the gap between theory and practice. That can happen while solving a marketing problem for a client, designing an interactive application or reading the Tarot.
I have an annoying tendency to evangelise everything I'm really into.
Connected since 1993 (that's before browsers), I have over ten years experience of customer experience, marketing communications, branding and strategy.
Update and background:
Since last Kinnernet:
I've recently moved back to London (second round), I'm leading the consulting function for strategic branding agency Brandinstinct.
Previous to the relocation i have completed two exciting years as an independent marketing strategy consultant, I've been lucky to work on cool project for cool clients. I have also worked with some of the fellow geeks I met at Kinnernet, I'm am currently working with about three start-ups at a time, and I'm on the advisory boards of two.
Clients during those two years included: Strauss, ynet (strategist in residence), Tadiran-Ampa (Amcor), Design Centre, Genesis Partners, Matchnet (Now Spark - Cupid & JDate), Mapa, Netex and the new gaming and digital culture programs at the interdisciplinary school, Beit Berl.
Extra Curricular:
- Kept working on Concept & Notes, some cool stuff including (gasp!) web 2.0 thingies coming soon. I'm also still writing the Collective newsletter (now in its 7th year), although it has become a bi-weekly publication due to being so busy.
- "Marketing Communications and the Cultural Field", the course i gave at Camera Obscura, proved quite popular, and i was supposed to give it at Betzalel, but that didn't happen due to the relocation. Empowering creative people from the design, content, and technology field to deal with marketing, marketers and "The Industry" is still a passion, and i hope to do a bit of that for the attendees, if there is interest.
- Numerous speaking engagements about blogs, web trends, and... comics.
- really hope to launch my long time coming blog before kinnernet...
Prior to last kinnernet:
On August 2003 came back from 2.5 years in London. Where I worked as a Senior Information Architect and later as a Strategic Consultant @ international brand consulting firm Siegel & Gale (then Siegelgale).
I specialise in customer centred marketing & brand strategy, that's why my new media/IA background is so important to everything I do.
Past clients include: Cellcom, Elite, El-Al, Bank Hapoalim in Israel. And Vodaphone, Cahoot, O2, Eurotel, Czesky Telecom, ZFS and LogicaCMG in the UK and Europe.
Before London: spent three years at IOL. Left as Content Dev director - which basically means leading product innovation, web concepts, strategy, and spec-ing for most products, (and meeting too many start-ups) while discovering that actually I was very interested (and quite good actually) in marketing.
Published articles in: Haaretz, Maarive, Otot, Panim, and ynet.
Spoke to (among others): Genesis partners investor summit, Info2005, IDF's media officer course, Minshar, Betzalel, and the Open University.
Graduated from: TAU with a BA cum laude in Poetics and Comparative Literature.
